So come on down and have lots of fun!
But
embrace yourselves... This is no ordinary Quidditch game. It's all set
based on PH questions. This is definitely a good chance to see how much
you know PH. Oh yes, the Headmistress is playing so let's see how good she really is... |

The magical sport that JKR made popular in her books is becoming a muggle phenomenon in colleges across the nation. The first team was formed in 2006 by Xander Menshel at Middlebury College and in 2007, Menshel's "heir" Alex Benope went on to found the Intercollegiate Quidditch Association, which includes 139 college teams and 30 high school teams across America and the world. The players do use broom sticks and the object is to catch the human snitch (a cross country runner). People who live near Middlebury College (in Vermont) can go check out the Intercollegiate World Cup on Sunday, Oct. 26th from 10 AM to 6 PM.

This weekend saw three curiously exciting Quidditch games, including everything from seeker scrambles to reserve players to neutral keepers.
After a morning rematch, Gryffindor scraped a win against Hufflepuff, 80-20! Several hours later, Slytherin narrowly defeated Ravenclaw, 60-10, in a match that would not even have taken place without the aid of a few reserve players.
Here are the current standings: 1. Gryffindor - 2 wins, 270 points 1. Slytherin - 2 wins, 270 points 3. Hufflepuff - 0 wins, 220 points 4. Ravenclaw - 0 wins, 10 points
The tournament will conclude in two weeks, when Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff play for third place, and Slytherin and Gryffindor compete in the final showdown for the Quidditch Cup! Specific dates and times will be announced over the week.
Congratulations to all Quidditch players!
